Penny Buckingham, Cook Area Ambulance Service Director and active community member, Penny was uninsured and has accumulated multiple medical expenses
Penny Buckingham's life was helping anyone with a medical need. She has been on the Cook Area Ambulance Service for many years, most of them as the Director of the very experienced team. She had over 20 years of EMT experience, and was previously a nurse.
Penny goes above and beyond the call of duty. She was very active in many organizations: the Secretary of the Cook Safety Committee, local Red Cross Coordinator, CPR Instructor, Board Member of the Lake Vermilion Fire Brigade, Arrowhead EMS, and St. Louis County Emergency Communications Systems User Board and Coordinator of the Crisis Debriefing Team, just to name a few.
Penny was a very dedicated to the community. Whether it be a school function, community event, teaching children and adults medical safety, or just a smile and greeting to everyone passing by, she has touched the lives of all those around her.
Her volunteer hours are endless. As a dedicated EMT, she is responding to calls in the middle of night, during holidays, below zero weather, snowstorms, rain, and during all other inclement weather elements.
Penny has always taken care of us, it’s now our time to take care of her family!
